Agricultural Context
Project Description / Context
Based on a critical examination of the agricultural areas of Inciralti, the studio will explore possibilities of incorporating low cost family housing which will prioritize those working in the industry (Agriculture and Floriculture). The initial research stage will aim to identify current and future needs of the community that may incorporate growing areas, urban farm(s), and retail/ markets etc. A strong focus will be put on a sustainable future for the area which prevents community fragmentation and hinders speculative forprofit real estate development which leads to gentrification. The semester will be divided in 3 main PHASES: Research and Documentation, Housing Unit Typological Design and Study, Site Settlement Strategies and Public / Common Place
Project Brief Requirements
Students will design single family housing in the area called LAZ MAHALLESI where for the sake of the exercise the existing housing in poor structural condition would be demolished and replaced with more efficient ones not only In term of Design layout but also in terms of
environmental and structural efficiency. The typology of the housing units will be row houses and for a single family.
